Where is God During Times of Crisis?

I saw an article a few days ago that asked where God is during crises like the Coronavirus. The next line started with “No one knows…” I basically wanted to throw something at that point, and it’s been sitting on my heart ever since. (This is not an attack on whoever wrote that article. I’m sure they meant well.)

So, where is God in times like this?

He is most assuredly sitting on His throne in heaven.

In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, high and lifted up, and the train of His robe filled the temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said:

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts;
The whole earth is full of His glory!” Isaiah 6:1-3

Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne set in heaven, and One sat on the throne. Revelation 4:2

Why would the writer of Hebrews tell us to go to the throne of the Ancient of Days if He isn’t there anymore?

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16

On top of all that, beloved, God Himself dwells in me, and in anyone who has made Jesus the Lord of their lives.

To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 1 Corinthians 3:16

God remains on His throne, and in those of us who believe.

God did not send this pandemic.

God has not left the building.

Not everything that happens is the will of God. (We can see this in the simple fact that God desires all men to be saved [see 1 Timothy 2:4], yet, there are a lot of people out there without Him at the moment.)

God will and is working this to the good of those whole love Him, just as He said He would in Romans 8:28.

God is not scared by your questions. Ask Him.

When you’re done, ask Him what He’d like you to be doing right now to be a positive force in this crazy world.

WE love you, and more importantly, HE loves you!
