Baer Necessities 01 December, 2012

So I started off on my first run this morning, arguing with God. Let me clarify—I argued, He kept silent and waited for me to shut up long enough that He could point out to me my stupidity. Again.

“But this is not the actual season Your Son was born. Why do You allow it to be misrepresented?”

“Does it truly matter? Or is it better that they acknowledge His Birth and give Glory to Him?”

“Yeah, but…” I stopped. I know, and He knows, that any time I start a rebuttal with those two words, I’m off track and dead wrong. “All right. Nu?

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.

“Did I put a season on that?”

“Well, no…”

Matthew 1:23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.

“Did I place a season on that?”

“No…but what about Luke, chapter 1, verses 26 and 27?”

And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.

“That specifies a season that she became with child. That would give us a time frame for His birth.” I hunkered down inside the cab of my truck, waiting for the lightning bolt. It didn’t strike. Instead, another verse entered my mind.

Matthew 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Yeshua (Jesus) was referring directly to the children, but someone who is new in Christ can also be known as a baby.

Romans 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.

What I believe to be the true season to celebrate His birth has naught to do with how another celebrates it. Neither way is right. Neither way is wrong. Neither way, when you get right down to it, has any bearing on either of us attaining salvation.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Nothing is written in that verse about believing in His proper date of birth—only that in believing in Him will we get everlasting life.

“Father, forgive me. I was wrong to presume to correct others at this time of year. Let them celebrate as they see fit. It’s not about me. It’s not about them. It’s about believing in Him to gain our salvation in You. I repent.”

Then, another verse came to mind.

Proverbs 21:1 ¶ The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will.

“Wait—what has this to do with—oh, no! You’re going there about my country’s leader again, aren’t you? You know how I feel about him!”

1 Timothy 2:1-3 ¶ I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour…

“No! I don’t like him! I find his actions detestable! He’s evil! He’s a godless heathen! Smite him! Smite him now! Cast him into the Lake of Fire!”

“When I first called to you, you were a godless heathen. Did I smite you, and cast you into the Lake of Fire?”

“Yeah, but—oh, bother…”

Call to Prayer 11/7/2016

Call to prayer to all believers this week in and for the United States. Heightened terror alerts due to valid threats has been given to all police and protection agencies. The goal is to disrupt the US elections.

Rally all who pray to take their watch, sit in their places of authority (Ephesians) and pray 24/7 over America, our borders, ports, coasts, states, polling places, schools, institutions, businesses, neighborhoods (homes and families), hospitals, military bases, airports, cities, and as the Lord leads.

Terror entities who threaten the United States of America are uncircumcised Philistines who mock and defy the Great IAM – The armies of the Living God stand ready to defend. We call into remembrance what God did for David and what He did for King Hezekiah in 2 Kings 19.

We declare: The Joy of the Lord is our strength and No Weapon fashioned against America will prosper, in Jesus Name! Nehemiah 8:10, Isaiah 54:17.

1 Samuel 17:26 (EXB) Who does this ·uncircumcised [pagan] Philistine think he is? Does he think he can ·speak against [taunt; defy; challenge] the armies of the living God?”

2 Kings 19:14-19
“Hezekiah Prays to the Lord
14 ·When [After] Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it, he went up to the ·Temple [L house] of the Lord. He spread the letter out before the Lord 15 and prayed ·to [before] the Lord: “Lord, God of Israel, whose throne is ·between [above] the ·gold creatures with wings [L cherubim; Ex. 37:7], ·only you [you alone] are God of all the kingdoms of the earth. You made the heavens and the earth. 16 ·Hear [L Extend/Incline your ear], Lord, and listen. Open your eyes, Lord, and see. Listen to the words Sennacherib has said to ·insult [defy; ridicule; mock] the living God. 17 It is true, Lord, that the kings of Assyria have ·destroyed [devastated; laid waste to] these ·countries [nations] and their lands. 18 They have thrown the gods of these nations into the fire, ·but [for] they were not gods at all but only wood and rock statues that people made. So the kings have destroyed them. 19 Now, Lord our God, ·save [rescue; T deliver] us from the king’s ·power [L hand] so that all the kingdoms of the earth will know that you, Lord, ·are the only [alone are] God.”

Study points:

Monday

  • Zechariah 3:8 – Hear, O Joshua, the high priest,  You and your companions who sit before you, For they are a wondrous sign; For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH.
  • John 6:12 –  So when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing is lost.”
  • John 6:27 – Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life, which the Son of Man will give you, because God the Father has set His seal on Him.
  • John 6:37 –  All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
  • John 6:68-69 –  But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 Also we have come to believe and know that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Tuesday

  • Zechariah 6: 12-13 – Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: ‘Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH!  From His place He shall branch out,  And He shall build the temple of the Lord13 Yes, He shall build the temple of the Lord. He shall bear the glory, And shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne,  And the counsel of peace shall be between them both.'”
  • Zechariah 7:11 – But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear.
  • John 7:24 – Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.

Wednesday

  • Zechariah 9:9 – Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey, A colt, the foal of a donkey.
  • John 8:12 – Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”
  • John 8:34-36 – Jesus answered them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. 35 And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. 36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”
  • Psalm 147:2-3 – The Lord builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel. He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.

Thursday

  • Zechariah 12:10 –  And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
  • John 9:31-33 – Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him. 32 Since the world began it has been unheard of that anyone opened the eyes of one who was born blind. 33 If this Man were not from God, He could do nothing.

Friday

  • Ezra 6:19-22 – And the descendants of the captivity kept the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month. 20 For the priests and the Levites had purified themselves; all of them were ritually clean. And they slaughtered the Passover lambs for all the descendants of the captivity, for their brethren the priests, and for themselves. 21 Then the children of Israel who had returned from the captivity ate together with all who had separated themselves from the filth of the nations of the land in order to seek the Lord God of Israel. 22 And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy; for the Lord made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria toward them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

divider thorns

Study points:

Monday

  • Daniel 5:20a – But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened in pride…
  • Daniel 6:10 – Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.
  • Daniel 6:16 – So the king gave the command, and they brought Daniel and cast him into the den of lions. But the king spoke, saying to Daniel, “Your God, whom you serve continually, He will deliver you.”
  • Daniel 6:23b – So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no injury whatever was found on him, because he believed in his God.
  • Daniel 6:26-27 – I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
  • The purpose of Daniel’s salvation from the lion, other than the obvious protection of someone who trusted God, was to show the world who the living GOD is.
  • John 1:41b – “We have found the Messiah”
  • Psalm 130:7-8 – O Israel, hope in the Lord;  For with the Lord there is mercy,  and with Him is abundant redemption.  And He shall redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Tuesday

  • The prophecies of Daniel are very interesting to study. Some have been fulfilled and some are still waiting to be fulfilled. And some still are double fulfillment, in that they were fulfilled once and will be again.
  • Daniel 9:2 – in the first year of his reign I, Daniel, understood by the books the number of the years specified by the word of the Lord through Jeremiah the prophet, that He would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
  • Daniel studied the Word of God and understood by revelation that Israel’s time of captivity in Babylon was nearing its end.
  • Daniel repented for his whole nation
  • The prophecy about the time Messiah would come was fulfilled exactly.
  • John 2: 5b – “Whatever He says to you, do it.
  • John 2:21-22 – But He was speaking of the temple of His body. 22 Therefore, when He had risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He had said this to them; and they believed the Scripture and the word which Jesus had said.

Wednesday

  • Daniel 12:10 – Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.
  • John 3:14 – And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
  • Psalm 123 is a psalm of ascent. It is sung while they are going “up” to Jerusalem. It is fitting that this Psalm makes us think of the release from Babylon of the Jews and their return to Jerusalem. Which is happening even more in our days as the Jews return from yet another Diaspora.

Thursday

  • Ezra 1 – God recorded the names of those who returned. God is very specific.
  • Ezra 1-2 – Their first priority was to rebuild the temple.
  • Ezra 2 – This chapter correlates with Nehemiah 7
  • The Samaritans and the Jews were bitter enemies.
  • John 4:14 –  but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.
  • John 4:27 – And at this point His disciples came, and they marveled that He talked with a woman; yet no one said, “What do You seek?” or, “Why are You talking with her?”
  • We do not always understand what God is doing in another person’s life, but it behooves us to be quiet, watch and learn.
  • John 4:42 – Then they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard Him and we know that this is indeed the Christ,[a] the Savior of the world.”
  • John 4:50-51 – Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.” So the man believed the word that Jesus spoke to him, and he went his way. 51 And as he was now going down, his servants met him and told him, saying, “Your son lives!”
  • Psalm 84:10 – For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand.  I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Friday

  • Ezra 3 – The first thing they did was restore the festivals of the Lord and the sacrifices.
  • Ezra 3:11-13 – And they sang responsively, praising and giving thanks to the Lord: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever toward Israel.” Then all the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid. 12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers’ houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy, 13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.
  • There will always be resistance to building the “temple” of God, both then and now.   This is especially true of the building of the spiritual temple of the Holy Spirit.
  • John 5:6 – When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, “Do you want to be made well?”
  • John 5:23 – that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
  • Psalm 127:2 – It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late,  To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.

Listen up! The Scandal of the Election 2016

If I could make every believer sit down and read the blog I liked below.. and then make them read it again, I would come to every house and do that. But I can’t.

So I am doing this instead and hoping you will share it with every believer you know.

If you read nothing else about the election, read this.

After reading this I had some repenting to do myself!

The only thing I would add to this is that if you are making any decisions about this election on FEAR of what can/could/might happen, you are doing it wrong. Get with God and see what HE wants you to do. Not based on media reports, not based on what you feel, but what HE wants you to do. Then DO IT.
