Week Thirty-Five – Day 4:
Study points:
-
The phrase “the day of the Lord” is used in scripture to speak to the day of God’s wrath. Judgment will happen in that time that includes both God’s people (Israel and Judah) and the nations.
-
Zephaniah scolded God’s people for acts of wickedness.
-
Zephaniah also speaks judgment against other nations for their pride and arrogance against God’s people and how they treated Israel.
-
Honor, throughout the Scriptures, is a command to show respect. A respect demonstrated by one’s attitude and financial support.
-
We are commanded to honor widows and elders.
