Study points:
Monday
-
James 4: 4-6 – Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”? But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”
-
James 4:10 – Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
-
James 4: 11a – Do not speak evil of one another, brethren.
-
James 4:17 – Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
Tuesday
-
James 5:16 – Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Wednesday
-
Haggai 1:12 – Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed the voice of the Lord their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, as the Lord their God had sent him; and the people feared the presence of the Lord.
-
God’s plan was always to restore His temple and Israel to its proper place. Her proper place is one that is showing that God is the Lord to the world.
-
God’s ultimate plan was to restore all mankind to Himself through Messiah.
-
1 Peter 1: 8-9 – whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, 9 receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of souls.
-
1 Peter 1: 18-19 – knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
-
1 Peter 1: 25 – But the word of the Lord endures forever.
Thursday
-
Daniel 1:15 – And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.
-
Daniel 2:47 – The king answered Daniel, and said, “Truly your God is the God of gods, the Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, since you could reveal this secret.”
-
1 Peter 2:5 – you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
-
1 Peter 2:9 – But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Friday
-
Daniel 3:25 – He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
-
1 Peter 3:1-2 – Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear.
-
Women should pay attention to the verses that apply to them, not the verses that apply to men, and vice versa. It is not our place to inform our spouses what the Word says they should do, it is our place to obey the Word in what it tells US to do. The rest is not our business, but is between God and our spouse. If we do this, then God can get through to our spouses. Our spouses can not hear God when we are busy telling them what they should be doing.
-
1 Peter 3:8-9 – Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
