Don’t Fret!

Would you do something for me? Go read Psalm 37 before you continue reading here, please. Meet me back here when you’re done. Oh—and bring your Bible back here with you too.

Good? Okay! Let’s move on.

“Do not fret…” (v.1)

I remember reading this Psalm about a month ago and what echoed in my heart by the time I finished reading was this:

Don’t fret! Trust God and take up His attitude about the problem. He laughs!

He doesn’t sit up in heaven wringing His hands and fussing to Jesus about what They’re going to do about it. Nope! He laughs!

The Lord laughs at him, for He sees that his day is coming.” (v. 13)

Another thing I find beautiful about this Psalm is that it gives us steps to take:

  • Don’t fret or be envious (v.1—see also Philippians 4:1-9)
  • Trust God and show your trust by doing good (v.3)
  • Delight yourself in Him (v.4—and He will give you the desires of your heart)
  • Commit your way to Him (v.5—and He will bring it to pass)
  • Rest in Him! (v.7)
  • Oh yeah, don’t fret! (v.7)
  • Cease from anger and forsake wrath (v.8)
  • And, just in case you forgot—don’t fret! And love the addition here: “it only causes harm” (v.8)

Whenever worry launches itself in your face, do yourself a favor: LAUGH. I don’t care if you don’t feel like it—just do it! There is no problem you could have that is even remotely large enough to sway your Daddy, okay?

Once you’ve had a good laugh, go read this gem by Billye Brim; it covers all of the steps Psalm 37 gives us, but through Philippians 4:6-8.

Until later!

– Tammy

My Sheep Hear My Voice – Keith Moore

I am watching this series right now taught by Keith Moore (on the Roku channel, but you can download it free in video or audio formats at the link below).
It has vital, vital information for believers in the day we are living in.
If you believe God is “leading you” by any other way than the Holy Spirit, (events? tragedies? weather events? mistakes? feelings? any other sacred religious cows?) you are wrong and need to find out what the Word says because that is our only foundation and the only sure thing to stand on in these days.
You need ears to hear..

Enjoy and Be blessed.

Upcoming U.S. Elections 2016… – Billye Brim

I got this today in e-mail and had to share it immediately, it is an email/blog post from Billye Brim.

Billye Brim Blog March 11, 2016

From the Parsonage

My granddaughter, Kylie, and her husband have been attending Mark Hankins minister’s conference. She emailed me this anointed prayer given through Kenneth E Hagin in 1983 before the election of 1984.  They have been praying it every day and the Lord has been powerfully anointing their prayer.

I offer it here for you to pray this prayer in unity with hundreds, if not thousands, of others.

We shall pray it next Sunday at our Three O’clock Prayer Service.
We shall pray it next Wednesday at our Noon Live Streamed Prayer Service.
We shall pray it in our Authority Seminar in Norman, Oklahoma.
And I intend to pray it every day.

Kenneth E. Hagin prayed the following at a prayer meeting held on the Rhema Campus on January 31, 1983.
You follow me and let’s agree:
Heavenly Father,
We come again today.
We come in the Name of Jesus – not our name, not our power, not our holiness, not even our goodness – but we come in the Name of Jesus, washed in His blood, robed in His righteousness.
We come because You told us to come. You said in Your Holy Word for us to come boldly to the throne of grace that we may obtain help and grace to help in the time of need. Thank You, Father. We are exhorted in Your Word to pray, to intercede, to supplicate, and to give thanks for ALL who are in authority, that Christians-that believers-everywhere may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
We pray for our leaders – our President, every member of Congress, the Supreme Court, the President’s Cabinet, everyone that is in authority – that divine wisdom and grace will be given unto them. And direction will be given unto them.
We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil that would try to dominate and rule in our own nation. We rise up against that darkness. We rise up against those spirits and dispel the darkness. In the Name of Jesus, we command the devil to take his hand OFF of the political scene of our nation. We pray for every politician, everyone that’s in office, that they’ll not be so concerned about politics, that they’ll not be so party conscious, but that they’ll be concerned about our nation as a whole – and above all, put God first.
We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil, the demons of hell that would endeavor to dominate the financial scene of our nation. We pray for the economy of our nation.
We pray about the unemployed. We pray that the economy will be turned around, and that we will be prosperous as a whole – as a nation – to continue to carry the Gospel around the world. We command the devil and all of his cohorts: Take your hand OFF of the financial scene of our nation.
We come against the powers of darkness, the forces of evil that would endeavor to dominate the domestic scene of our nation. We command you, Satan, and all of your cohorts: Take your hand OFF the domestic scene of our nation. May there be peace. May there be tranquility. May there be understanding from the Atlantic to the Pacific, from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border. [In Alaska and Hawaii].
We sweep the air clean from demons – powers of evil that would hinder, that would dominate. In the Name of Jesus!
We come against all forces that are wrong. And, Father, we pray with our understanding as best we know how. We’re instructed to do so. Yet we sense in our spirit that our spirits have not prayed as they would like. We remember that Paul said that if I pray in an unknown tongue, MY spirit prayeth, MY spirit, by the Holy Spirit within me prayeth. So the Great, Mighty Spirit of God dwells in us. He is our Helper. He is our Counselor, our Advocate. He is our Intercessor. He is our Standby. He will help us.
We trust Him to help us pray in this area and about our nation, and the leaders, and all that are in authority. Help us to pray as we ought to pray, and about things that we don’t even know to pray concerning the upcoming election. We take authority over every stronghold that would endeavor to hinder the process of the right person being elected to lead our country. We boldly proclaim that Your will shall be accomplished.
He will give us utterance. And we will pray and intercede and give thanks in the Spirit.

Baer Necessities — 25 October, 2014

Okay, Church. Gather ’round. We need to have a chat, and y’all ain’t gonna like it. Ready?

Homosexuality. Marriage equality.

Oh! Yup! There it is! I saw that! Your knees jerked! Don’t try to deny it! We all know it’s true. You had a knee-jerk reaction to those topics. Yeah, I ain’t particularly happy about them either. But you’re going about it all wrong. Yeah, that’s right. I said it. WRONG!

I know, I know, I know. It’s in the Old Covenant as an abomination. Heard it. Heard it way too many times. It’s a sin. Yeah. I know that. You know that. They know we believe that. And y’ know what? They don’t care. Let me reiterate: they don’t care. And you bellyaching about it like a dog that’s treed a squirrel ain’t gonna do diddly squat to change anyone’s mind. All you’re doing is blowing yourself out, working up a sweat, and making them ignore you (at best), or ridicule you (more likely). Feel good about that? Did that get anyone into the Hereafter? Ah, nope.

So grab something cold to drink, sit down, shut your yap hole, mop your brow, open your Bible, and listen up for a few moments. You might learn something. Then again, you might not. I might lose a few of y’all after this. But so be it. I ain’t in this for y’all. I’m in this for Him. So stifle it. Stop fidgeting. You—in the back. Sit still.

When Yeshua (Jesus for you Traditionalists) was asked by one of the lawyers, which was the greatest commandment in Matthew 22:35, He responded with, “…’Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.'” (Matthew 22:37-40 KJV)

It was repeated in Mark, also. “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31 KJV)

Still not convinced? Let’s hash this out in triplicate then, shall we? “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” (Luke 10:27)

Oh, there you go again, rolling your eyes. Yes, I can hear you thinking that if those people truly loved God, they would obey His commandment about homosexuality. They’re breaking his commandments by sinning with that one. I know, I know. I’ve heard all the arguments. Tell you what, though. Let’s look at that beam in your eye, first.

Oh, so now your mouth is open and no sound coming out! I’m sorry. Did I strike a nerve? I bet I did. Yep, that’s a hard one to take sometimes. “Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” (Matthew 7:1-3 KJV)

Here, let me step a little harder: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8 KJV)

And: “For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.” (James 2:10 KJV)

Next: “Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like…” (Galatians 5:19-21 KJV)

You catching the drift here? Sin is sin. It doesn’t matter if you break even the tiniest portion, you’ve broken it all. Yes, I know—we’re saved by Grace. Guess what? So are they. All they have to do is come to know Him. And that—that is where we come in, not by badgering them incessantly with our hatred of their choice, but with His Good News. Remember that commandment? Or have you, in your zeal to hinder them, forgotten all about it? Yeshua told us all to do something. “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15 KJV)

Yeah. That one. And why did He command us to do that? C’mon, this is an easy question—you ‘member! “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 KJV)

Ah! There it is! The verse that puts us on the side of Grace! Forgiven. Once again—forgiven. And saved. The Gospel! The GOOD News! The one we’re to preach to all the world. Did you ever read past that, though? Oh, not all that far. Just the very next verse. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:17 KJV)

Yep. Yeshua came to save us all. Every last one of us! All! All we have to do is accept Him in belief. He did not come to condemn us. Why, therefore, are we so busy trying to condemn the LGBT crowd? Fear?

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” (1 John 4:18 KJV)

Are we able to preach the Gospel to them when they fear us? If you’re not walking in His love, you’re not preaching the Gospel. Hatred and strife—go back up to Galatians 5. Those are not of the Son. Those are of the fallen. They are sinful.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord…” (Hebrews 12:14 KJV)

Peace. Be peaceful. Now I ain’t telling you that you have to agree with them. Nowhere in the Word does it say we have to agree with them. Nope. Never going to happen. Nor am I advocating lallygagging about with them, painting the town red until the wee hours of the morning. But be at peace. Love them. Love your neighbor…

But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?” (Luke 10:29 KJV) Do I need to trot out the story of the Samaritan? Or can I trust you to understand that reference enough without me showing it to you in black and white? All of mankind is your neighbor—even our enemies. Heaps of coals upon their heads, what, what?

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.” (John 15:10 KJV) Love. We keep coming back to love, over and over.

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you…” (Matthew 5:44 KJV)

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you…” (Luke 6:27 KJV)

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” (John 13:34 KJV)

Your clamoring of hate and intolerance does nothing but make noise. “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity (which is translated elsewhere as love), I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.” (1 Corinthians 13:1 KJV)

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.” (John 13:35 KJV)

Cease this Gospel of hate and judgment. Preach the Gospel of love. Let them know you love them. Get them to know the Gospel of love. God knows what’s in their hearts. He can change them.

Let the Word Light Your Path

“Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” – Psalm 119:105

This verse is just so beautiful, but let’s take a moment to go beyond the pretty words to embrace the power held within them.

Whatever situation you’re facing, the Word has an answer. Maybe you think that your problem is just too weird or complicated. Believe me, it’s not. The Lord has walked me through some doozies.

Please note that the verse above does not imply that God will show you the entire plan all at once. I can’t remember where I heard it, or who said it, but when you’re walking on a dark path with a flashlight, you can only see a few steps ahead. But isn’t that all that’s necessary to walk the path ahead, step by step?

All you need right now is one step, and the Word has it for you. Open up your Bible, go where He leads you, and as you read, the Holy Spirit within you will cause whatever God knows you need right now to leap out at you. He’ll show you how it applies!

I love this verse in the ERV:

Your word is like a lamp that guides my steps, a light that shows the path I should take.”

Don’t concern yourself right now with the rest of the path. Just take that first step.

Something is changing…..9/22/2014

The beginning of this year (2014) the Lord led my BB (battle buddy), Tammy and I to begin reading and sharing together daily in the New Testament. We read 1 chapter a day and then we join each other in a group we created and share our notes, insights, questions when we had time during the day (mostly mornings). It has been more of a blessing than I ever would have imagined!!

God lead us to Rick Renner’s series on “7 things to keep you spiritually strong”. Tammy and I watched it when he taught at EMIC. This became part of our every day reading. Powerful, powerful, yet simple list to check daily and pray daily.

As we obeyed (that is the key!), God led us to continue that but to move to the next “place”.

This year, when KCM broadcast the Southwest Believers Conference they did something different. They broadcast the pre-service prayer times. They were amazing and the Lord told Tammy and I to watch them together after the convention was over. So we committed to 1 hour a day together in chat and listened together.
This was life changing for us….

(links to all these are to follow at the bottom)

We felt led to study more with Pastor Terri Pearsons on Prayer. And God led us to what was next. Please notice all the “we obey, He led”. Because we had no idea what He had put in place or how perfectly the pieces would fit together in each study, lifting us higher and higher into Him.

So we were then led to continue our one hour a day study/prayer time together by listening together to an entire series called “Understanding Spirit-Led prayer”..
This… there are no words for what this did to us, for us, with us, in us…. I think we can safely say this rocked our world.

We then listened to Pastor Paul Brady when he taught at EMIC. Amazing, amazing praying Pastor. Had we not been prepared with the previous teaching though, I am absolutely sure that while we would have been blessed we would not have gotten all that God had planned for us out of his teachings.

As we are continuing listening, obeying and doing, He has now led us to listen to a LA Spirit-Led Prayer conference from 2009 (the 2014 one is going on as I type this and is in the Queue as well :)).

As we finish this, we will listen to a study Pastor Terri did just finish on Wednesday nights on prayer, and then God willing, we will do this years prayer conference with Patsy Cameneti.

To write this all down, and truly see what the Lord is doing is breath-taking.

He has led me to put this on a blog for our benefit, but also so that you too can be blessed by doing this study process. Get with your battle buddy and commit to an hour a day together however the Lord leads. Sometimes it was 90 minutes, sometimes things happened that it was only 30 minutes, and sometimes we missed, but it’s all ok!!

Here are the links to the prayer studies done and planned so far (Some of the links are to part 1 and you will have to go to the previous page to find the rest. (Follow the dates on newer things, direct links may change pages as the most recent is always on page 1 until the year ends.)

9/11/14 – Psalm 91

As we remember today the horrible events in the US that occurred 13 years ago, this Psalm came up in my Spirit. It is important today and every day. Take a few minutes and read the Psalm and let the Lord minister it to your life. – Kath

Psalm 91 (AMP)
1 He who [a]dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
2 I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust!
3 For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day,
6 Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you.
8 Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place,
10 There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent.
11 For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service].
12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.
14 Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness—trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never].
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.
Footnotes:

Psalm 91:1 The rich promises of this whole chapter are dependent upon one’s meeting exactly the conditions of these first two verses (see Exod. 15:26).

Refusing to Believe

“Afterward He appeared to the Eleven [apostles themselves] as they reclined at table; and He reproved and reproached them for their unbelief (their lack of faith) and their hardness of heart, because they had refused to believe those who had seen Him and looked at Him attentively after He had risen [from death].” – Mark 16:14 (AMP, emphasis mine)

If you’ve read the gospel accounts of the events following Jesus’ death and burial, you know that the disciples did not believe those who reported to them that Jesus had risen from the dead. In my head, their doubt was more of a passive thing, like they couldn’t help but be dumbfounded by the news.

But no, the Word says they REFUSED to believe. They had a choice to believe the report, or not!

It got me thinking. What does God’s Word say that I’ve been refusing to believe? As I seek the Lord to show me what needs to be corrected in my own heart, take some time to do the same:

Do I believe that God really will supply all of my needs (Philippians 4:19)?

Do I really believe that God loves me (John 17:23)?

Do I really believe that Jesus paid the price not only for my eternal salvation, but for my healing and peace (Isaiah 53:5, 1 Peter 2:24)?

Do I really believe that God forgives me the moment I ask Him to (1 John 1:9)?

Do I really believe that God’s going to work this situation out for my good (Romans 8:28)?

A big indicator of your trust in God in any area is your joy level. When your mind touches on the situation, does dread rise up in your heart like a flood, or does a sense of gladness rise up, knowing that God’s Word is working on that particular thing?

Think about it! If I told you I was sending you a thousand bucks today, would you be mopey and gazing sadly at those catalogs full of items you can’t afford, or would you be expectantly waiting for the mail to arrive and planning what you’d do with it when it came?

You always have a choice to believe or not believe!

Jesus said:

“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 14:27 (NKJV, emphasis mine)

And Paul wrote, in his letter to the Colossian believers:

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.” Colossians 3:15 (NKJV, emphasis mine)

LET. Let means choice. Let yourself believe God’s Word to you today!

Not sure what the Word has to say about your situation? Send us an email, and we’ll help you out!
