A Merry Heart….

Daily Hope May 18, 2011

Today’s Readings are:

  • 2 Samuel 11-12
  • Hebrews 7-9
  • Proverbs 18
  • Psalm 73

Yesterday in our readings we had Proverbs 17. One of the verses I quote most often is in Proverbs 17.

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.  (NKJV)

If you are around me any amount of time you will find out that I LOVE to laugh!

A lot of social media today really helps with that as folks are always sharing the funniest videos, songs and just general hilarious comments.

You will oft hear me say “Laughter is good medicine”. True, heart-felt laughter, (some call it belly laughter) comes from the heart. If you’ve ever heard a baby laugh, that is the type of laughter I mean. It comes from somewhere deep inside and you can’t help but laugh with them. It’s contagious! 🙂

Social media can also be very bad for this. Sadly, some folks feel the need to write every horrible thing that runs across their mind on their social media. The ones that do it the most are the ones that seem to have the most horrible things going on in their life every day. I call them “negative nancies”.

Now I am not talking about posting and asking for prayer. Nor am I talking about an occasional need to vent a little about a bad day or event or frustration.

You know the ones I am talking about. Every day some tragedy has struck, something bad has happened or they are expecting something bad to happen because it’s Monday… You know the ones….

I try really hard to not speak or type negative things. Doesn’t mean they don’t happen to all of us, but what we speak and share with the world is extremely important. Doesn’t mean I don’t vent some frustration now and then. But it means I think long and hard about what I put out into the air. The power of your words are greater than you can imagine.

Two verses in todays Proverb tell us why, in part, these folks keep having such horrible days.

Proverbs 18:20 A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;
From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.  (NKJV)

Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,
And those who love it will eat its fruit. (NKJV)

These are two powerful verses. Read them a few times….

James also tells us about our words. So it isn’t just an Old Covenant issue. You can read about it yourself in James chapter 3 if you like.

So let’s take a look at our first verse again.

Proverbs 17:22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. (NKJV)

Think long and hard before you speak, post or “tweet” the negative things in your life, because you are harvesting what you are sowing. This can and does have an effect on your physical body in many ways. Stress, illness, circumstances can all go bad quickly.

Only in the recent years has science caught up with what God already told us. Guard your “typing” today and share a little laughter instead! 🙂

Be blessed!

The Word does not return Void!

Morning Hope May 16, 2011

Just a little encouragement today…..

One of my favorite scriptures of all time is in the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah 55:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
It shall not return to Me void,
But it shall accomplish what I please,
And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. (NKJV)

When we have something we are praying for we always need to have a scripture to back it up, so it has weight so to speak. This scripture tells us why.
No matter what it is you are praying for, believing for, as long as you are basing it on the Word of God, start rejoicing because the Word will not return Void, which means empty. It will accomplish and prosper in the thing when God sent it to do!

So if you don’t have Word for what you are praying for, stop right now and get in the Word and find it!
If you do have a Word you are standing on and believing for, don’t lose Hope!! Don’t be discouraged if a little time has passed without change.
The Word will not return Void and it will accomplish what it has been sent to do!!

*TWIRL*

Be blessed!

Pray for Israel

Please pray for Israel today. They are under attack at their borders as other countries “protest” their creation as a nation on what they call “Catastrophe Day”.

News media has shared that demonstrations will start Friday against Israel. And, the Muslim Brotherhood has called for an invasion of Israel on May 15.
You can read more at these links:

Israel is guarding its nation and people from harm. Please agree with them by praying for peace and safety for all Israeli soldiers. Pray for the protection of Israel’s borders from attack and the protection of its people from any harm. God has miraculously protected His people in the past. He can and will protect them again!
Prayer for Israel During This Time:

Father God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, we call upon You to intervene on behalf of Your people, Israel.
It is You Lord God who sends help to those in distress; deliver Your Chosen from the wrath of the ungodly. We ask that You place Your supernatural protection over those who are preparing to guard Israel and the people against an enemy whose intent is destruction of Your Chosen.
Lord God of Israel we call upon You to protect Your land which You have given to Your people as their inheritance. May the enemies of Israel be kept powerless by Your mighty hand, for You are her Rock and her Fortress and You dwell in her palaces; Your presence surrounds Israel like a shield.
We give You thanks with grateful hearts for the miracles that You will perform on behalf of the Jewish people and the land of Israel for You are her refuge and her strength and a very present help in trouble. Amen.
Psalm 121 (New King James Version)
A Song of Ascents.
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2 My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to be moved;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel
Shall neither slumber nor sleep.
5 The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade at your right hand.
6 The sun shall not strike you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
7 The LORD shall preserve you from all evil;
He shall preserve your soul.
8 The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in
From this time forth, and even forevermore.

Be blessed!

The importance of Pennies…

My husband always picks up any penny that he sees on the ground, always has.

He works with a man that regularly goes through his pockets and throws away pennies. Literally, throws them on the ground with claims of how worthless they are.

This same man is always complaining about being poor. But that’s another story entirely 🙂

Each penny is a seed. We always try to not be wasteful and be good stewards of any seed we have. At any time, but especially in this economy, we need seeds to sow and we need our seed mulitplied. The more you need, the more you should be giving.

2 Corinthians 9: 10 Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, ( NKJV)

But I have this following story in my bible, and it has reminded me of another reason why a penny, or any coin is important to not leave laying on the ground, ever. I do not remember where I got it or who wrote it, if you happen to know, please email us so we can give the proper credit.

Why I Pick Up Pennies

-author unknown

What do you do as you are walking along a sidewalk or across a parking lot and see a penny laying on the pavement? Be honest as you consider your answer.

I can tell you what I used to do: I used to pass it by. I can explain why I did too: A penny just isn’t worth picking up off the pavement. Unless, of course, it happens to be a 1909 – S VDB, which may be worth over $1000, depending upon its condition. But the chances of finding that vintage penny are very remote.

A penny costs the government more to produce than it is really worth. So, I just walked on past and ignored it. I didn’t even stop to pick up nickels and dimes. But, if I saw a paper bill I would always bend down and pick it up. In fact the most I have ever found at one time was a twenty-dollar bill. But, a penny – well, I just didn’t need it.

Besides that, there is something belittling about bending over to pick up pennies, etc. off the ground. What would people think of me if they saw me picking up a penny. I can tell you what I imagined they would be thinking: “He must be desperate for cash if he has to pick up pennies from the ground.” And, that may be the reason most of us don’t stop to pick up pennies. We just don’t want folks to look at us and think such a thing. After all, we need to put on an appearance of successfulness.

Successfulness? Yes, there is such a word. To most folks it means they have done everythingright. They seldom make mistakes. And, the mistakes they do make aren’t anything to be concerned about. In fact, they are so successful that they are turning out to be BETTER than most other folks. And so, especially if you are walking across the church parking lot after Sunday morning church, don’t allow yourself appear less than others around you by stopping to pick up loose change from off the ground.

I can relate to all of those feelings. If you will be honest with yourself, you can also relate to those feelings. As I have traveled through this short life I have been blessed to be able to relate to most of the same feelings that all sinners encounter. I must be honest with myself and my Savior: I am a sinner and I know all the excuses and pretenses of a sinner.

There are two basic reasons why most folks don’t stop to pick up a penny from the off the ground: A penny is practically worthless, and, it would create an image about yourself which you do not want others to embrace (Even if it were the truth).

So, what changed my mind about picking up pennies?

When I worked at the local Wal-Mart store God blessed me, again, by allowing me to work under a department manager who is one of the best Christians I have known. Not only was he a great mentor and teacher, he was an excellent example of how to live a life that pleases God. He told me the following story, which is very likely a true story.

A man and his wife were once invited out to dinner by the man’s employer. This was going to be a very important affair for the couple because they felt honored about the invitation. This particular employer was enormously wealthy. His financial status soared far above that of the employee and his wife. In fact, the couple became more nervous about the occasion as it approached with each passing day.

When the day of the dinner-date finally arrived the employer met the couple near the entrance to one of the most exclusive restaurants in the area. Following a formal greeting, the three of them proceeded toward the door with the wealthy employer leading the way. After a few steps the employer stopped in his tracks and appeared to be quietly staring at the ground in front of him.

After nearly bumping into the man, the couple stopped short, wondering what may be wrong. After a few seconds the employer bent over, picking up a single penny which lay on the sidewalk. He brushed it off, placed it into his pocket, and continued toward the door. The group was quickly seated and their order was taken.

As they waited for the food to be served, and, in an attempt to relieve an obviously tense atmosphere, the wife of the employee jokingly made the following comment: “I noticed that you didn’t walk past that penny on the ground outside. Is that how you have become so wealthy?”

The employer smiled kindly, reached into his pocket, and brought forth the redeemed penny, laying it on the table-top.

“Read what it says.” He asked.

The couple leaned forward, reaching for the penny, and pulled it closer.

“In God We Trust.” Said the wife.

Then the employer explained that he didn’t become wealthy by picking up pennies. He picked up pennies, and any other lost coins because of those words. He explained that God’s name is holy. (Remember the words to The Lord’s Prayer?) If we shouldn’t use it in vain we should also make sure that it is not walked upon by passers-by. But, he also explained another reason for pausing a short time before retrieving the penny from the ground.

“It is as if God has dropped a message into my pathway and He wants to remind me to keep my trust in Him.” He told how he always said a short prayer of thanks, as a reply to God’s loving message. The employer went on to explain, as they enjoyed the dinner and the evening together, that a single penny can become worth more than gold or silver in strengthening our relationship with our Heavily Father.

That’s the story, in so many words, that my department manager told me about why he also stops to pick up pennies. And, that’s why I now also pick up pennies from off the ground. I doubt that it will ever make me wealthy but I know it will make me richer. And I want my relationship with the Lord to be as rich as possible.

People are basically all the same. I recently had the great opportunity to share this story with a lady who saw me stoop to pick up a penny on the floor. She asked me why I went to so much trouble for a worthless penny. It became my great pleasure to share my faith, along with the reason I picked up that penny.

Not only does picking up pennies strengthen my relationship with my Lord, it has given me the occasion to share the story of how His love has changed my life. Please try to remember this next time you are walking across a parking lot and see a penny lying on the ground. Lose your pride and gain a blessing from God right there on the spot. And, thank Him for the little reminder.

-The end

Pick up the pennies you find and thank God for the reminder!

Be Blessed!

Bad Math?

Morning Hope – May 13, 2011

Today’s readings are:

  • 2 Samuel 1-2
  • Titus 1-3
  • Proverbs 13
  • Psalm 68

In the eyes of God, division among the brethren would be considered bad math. No, worse, it would be considered an abomination.

Put any well-known teacher or preacher’s name in an internet search engine and you will find page after page of things just tearing them apart, tearing them down. Sadly, most of these pages are written by believers! Friends, this ought not to be.

Proverbs 6:16-19

16These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (KJV)(emphasis mine)

I am not saying these preachers and teachers are all perfect, far from it. We all make mistakes, and have much to learn about the Word of God. I am saying that those that spend their time tearing down others to point out their errors are in grave error themselves. They are damaging others faith, and they are doing the work of the enemy. This is why God hates the sowing of discord among the brethren.

We all get in trouble now and again and can be tools the enemy uses against others. It’s something we must always be careful of. The enemy is sneaky, especially when he gets you doing something while thinking it’s God’s work that you are doing.

I went through a time in my life that I thought it was my job to point out every error in the church. So I do understand how easily the enemy feeds our egos and gets us to do this.

Proverbs 13:10a By pride comes nothing but strife (NKJV)

Even the apostle Paul only dealt with errors in *HIS* fields, and in the churches that *HE* was the spiritual head.

The apostle Paul knew division well. He, Barnabas and Mark had it out at least once, maybe more than once. They even split for a time. You never see Paul do anymore than state that they separated. (They do later come back together). Paul, of all people, “knew” what was right and what was wrong and would have had a “Right”, if anyone does, to declare before the world how wrong the others were if this was the way to handle things. Yet, he did not. Even when another left his work and fell into sin, he barely mentioned their deception and went on in the letter to not mention it again. Paul did not spend his days writing large letters tearing apart other ministers.

Paul did correct Peter once, to his face, the Word says. To his face!

Paul never publicly tore apart another ministry that spoke against him by name either. He addressed falsehoods, but never personal attacks by name. Paul never “returned” an answer to those that spoke evil against him. Even when he stood before Caesar he did not bash the high priest, oh no, he shared the gospel instead.

So while those in leadership are responsible for those “in their fields” , to go to them personally when there are any problems, the rest of us have no right to throw stones at other ministries that are not in our fields. Oh it is tempting! Our ego loves to think that we are smarter, wiser or more holy than someone else. But resist it! It is strife and discord among the brethren, God hates it and we must not pay it any mind when we do stumble across it on the internet, in books, newspapers and the like.

The enemy will use the Word to “point things out to you” that are wrong with someone else. He did it to Jesus when tempting him and he will use it against you as well. Worry about yourself, not someone else.

Matthew 7: 3-5

3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?

5 Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. (NKJV)

The word is very clear how problems should be handled when they do arise.

Matthew 18:15-17

15Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

16But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.

17And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican. (KJV)

You go *to* that person. If you have not done that, nor been able to do that, do *not* go to the next steps, which are go with more witnesses and then the leadership etc, or on to other steps.

So you say “Well, they aren’t going to meet with me, so I must go to step 2”..

Nonsense!

If you can not do what the word says in step 1, then you have no grounds to go to step 2 or 3 etc. You must be able to meet with them to discern if they will hear you or not before proceeding on. If you can’t , they Word doesn’t give you the option to just blast them in writing on the internet, a book, a paper, whatever. So I’d say this is a good sign to you that this is not your “Field” to clean up.

The Lord may lead you to write a letter to a person about some things, if He does, do so in love. If you hear nothing back, do not fret, God can handle it. I promise 🙂

The Lord may lead you away from a ministry or church and onto something else, we are all growing at different rates and need different things at different times. I will tell you that when and if that happens it usually has to do with you and not them.

The enemy is having a field day in the Church, so today let’s endeavor to avoid sowing discord among the brethren and be allergic to strife. Repent if you find this in your life, it is sly and sneaks in pretty quietly, and then pray for the minister or ministry.  Stop using excuses.

There are going to be a lot of folks in heaven you didn’t agree with! 🙂

I will leave you with a scripture to ponder.

Titus 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.

Be blessed!

Morning Hope – May 11, 2011

Today’s Bible Reading:

  • 1 Samuel 27-28
  • Luke 23
  • Proverbs 11
  • Psalm 66

Luke 23 in today’s reading is a detailed account of the death of Messiah on the cross. Some of us have seen and been touched by a recent move called the Passion. In some ways the reading of the crucifixion passages are so well-known to us they have lost some of their power in our lives.

Most of us are familiar with the need for the shedding of blood to death for the removal of our sins. Although now a days we don’t hear a lot about the blood in the church, we definitely need to. We need to study it and understand it’s purpose in our salvation but also in our protection.

In the book of Exodus we read about first Passover when the blood kept the devourer from the door. It still does this today in our lives.  Jesus is our Passover Lamb and we must apply His blood to our door posts. You should read the entire chapter of Exodus 12, but here is just a tidbit:

11And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD’s passover.

12For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.

13And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.  (KJV)

Psalm 105:37  also talks about a benefit of the Passover Lamb when they came out of Egypt (This is a type and shadow of us coming out of the world into His Kingdom)

37He brought them forth also with silver and gold: and there was not one feeble person among their tribes. (KJV)

Not one feeble among them! And there were millions, some estimates as much as 5 or 6 million left Egypt that day, and it was not just Israel, there was a mixed multitude of Gentiles that had kept the Passover commandment and came out with them.

So while the blood of Jesus is vital for our salvation, it is just as vital to our every day lives if we want to live in safety, security and health.

Pleading the blood is a legal term. It means that we can stand up to any attack and plead the blood of Jesus. Thus showing that we have covenant and protection.  Removing the rights of any attack to bother us.

Isaiah 54:17a  No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper;

In today’s crazy, mixed up world, this is important in our lives for everything from driving to the store, traveling in a plane, or standing in faith against storms that want to destroy us.

So the blood is important, but we also must realize something else happened on that cross when Jesus was crucified. His body was broken. Isaiah 53 tells us in detail that He not only bore our sins, but he also bore our sickness and disease. So both blood and body are vital to our lives as Christians if we are to be victorious.

Some translations of Isaiah 53 use the word griefs and sorrows, but the words literally translated are sickness and pains as shown here in Young’s Literal Translation. (You can see this yourself if you look up the words in a good concordance like Strong’s etc)

Isaiah 53: 3-5 He is despised, and left of men, A man of pains, and acquainted with sickness, And as one hiding the face from us, He is despised, and we esteemed him not.

4Surely our sicknesses he hath borne, And our pains — he hath carried them, And we — we have esteemed him plagued, Smitten of God, and afflicted.

5And he is pierced for our transgressions, Bruised for our iniquities, The chastisement of our peace [is] on him, And by his bruise there is healing to us. (YLT)

So today and the next time you receive communion be sure to remember that the blood and body that were shed and broken for you are as important in your life today as they were the day you got born again.

Be blessed!

Morning Hope – May 10, 2011

Today’s bible readings:

  • 1 Samuel 25-26
  • Luke 22
  • Proverbs 10
  • Psalm 64-65

Proverb 10 really caught my eye today. It is a proverb that compares what the righteous look like and what the wicked look like. So often today we forget that we are to be light to the world, so we should stand out. We should be different. Today’s proverb was a reminder of that.  I want to take a quick look at a few verses in this proverb and see what we should look like.

1The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son maketh a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother. (KJV)

How is your relationship with your parents? Siblings? Grandparents? The people that raised us? Spiritual parents? Can we do something about it today? Have we done everything we can do to live in peace as much as it depends on us? Have we taken it to the Lord in prayer?

3The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. (KJV)

During times the world is going through hard times, are we prospering and being a blessing to those in need? We should be. Read in Exodus about the Israelites in Egypt and Goshen during the plagues if you need a quick refresher.

4He becometh poor that dealeth with a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. (KJV)

This really speaks to me of a work ethic. Small things at work can speak volumes to the unbeliever. Whether it’s something like taking a pen accidently and remembering to return it, or whether it’s how we handle our breaks , returning from them on time and not using work time for personal business, it’s all important.

5He that gathereth in summer is a wise son: but he that sleepeth in harvest is a son that causeth shame. (KJV)

There should be miracles in the believers life that deal with knowing the right time to do and say things. These will lift up and prosper the believer and bring honor and prosperity to your family. Are we awake, ready for a harvest?

8The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a prating fool shall fall. (KJV)

Are we quick to receive correction from the Word and implement it in our life? Are we quietly listening for His voice to correct us, or are we the only one talking during prayer time?

11The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covereth the mouth of the wicked. (KJV)

When we speak to others are we speaking in love and not to tear down?

12Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins. (KJV)

We want to be one that covers with love, not one that stirs up strife with our words and actions. Is there someone we need to repent to today for not walking in love?

15The rich man’s wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty. (KJV)

Are we properly using your prosperity to bless others? Is there somewhere we can do better in this area?

18He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth a slander, is a fool. (KJV)

Are out tongues flapping with gossip or to tear down , or are they building up in love?

19In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.

20The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

21The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. (KJV)

Again, the importance of our words are emphasized. I haven’t even listed all the verses in this proverb that deal with this. Is there some area where we need to be quiet? Some area that we need to speak and aren’t? Some area that we need to learn to hear the voice of the Spirit about when to speak and when not to? This is extremely important in marriages.

22The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (KJV)

This verse is powerful.  I think I will just leave it  to have you read a few times and let you hear what He would say to you about it.

24The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted. (KJV)

Job also said this, “That which I feared came upon me”.  If you are in fear in an area, I would encourage you to get into the Word and build up your faith in that area, so that fear has no place.

27The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened. (KJV)

We should be living longer than the unbeliever. That’s something to ponder! 🙂

I hope you do read the whole proverb to get the full impact of it, I am just touching on a few points.

We are light!

Be blessed!

  • Proverb 9
  • Psalm 62-63

While reading the passages in 1 Samuel we see David fleeing from Saul. Saul has been told things about David and seeks to kill him. Saul listens to spies, listens to those people who want something from Saul for the information, and Saul tracks David like a dog.

The amazing thing is David is always one step ahead of his enemy. Why? Because he checks with God. David doesn’t assume to know what he should do because of what the situation looks like. Often we rely on our own information, or knowledge to make decisions that affect our lives when we should be seeking God and what information He has for us.

David then finds himself in a cave with Saul asleep. Boy, how many of us would be all excited that God has put our enemy in our hand! Even those around David believed that this was the time to kill Saul. David does the surprising thing again, he only cuts the corner of the garment from Saul, and even regrets that! The worlds wisdom was far, far removed from God’s.

David then shouted to Saul and bowed before him and showed Saul the corner of the garment. Remember, this is his enemy, someone trying to kill him. David reminds Saul how much David loves him and how much Saul loves David.  He reminding Saul of this, while saying the other things Saul have heard about David are lies.
Saul’s heart seems to open up and he calls to David in tears and speaks words of love to David.

Saul goes back to his city, but notice something. David stays in the caves and wilderness.

Maybe David doesn’t trust Saul’s words quite yet.

From reading these chapters we can see that David isn’t going to trust a thing until he goes to God and finds out what to do next. So we can rest assured that David is going to do that very thing and this habit saves his life many times over. We need to have this habit about everything in our lives, from the little things like what route to drive to work, to the larger things.

There is danger all around us  now a days. We live in a very dangerous world. A world filled with things screaming at us to fear, screaming at us to die, screaming at us to do X, Y or Z.

It is never more important than today that you become familiar with daily time with God, that you learn to hear his quiet voice when things are screaming around you. He will guide you safely. He will keep you under his wings. Become familiar with Psalm 91 and know that you are in the safe place.

It is also important that you stay out of fear. It is important that you stay in faith. That you say in a place that is about believing God. Fear blocks God’s protection, fear blocks your ability to hear God when He tells you to do something. That something might save your life.

Worry has no place in this life led by God. Worry is sin, we are commanded by Jesus to not worry many times.

Take your concern to prayer, give it to the Father, leave it there. Cast your cares on Him for He cares for you.

When it comes back up in your face, or seems to be crushing your chest, refuse to take it back! Say something like “Oh no, that’s not my care anymore, I won’t waste anymore time on it”. Seek God’s face for what to do, if anything in that situation and then REST in Him.

In todays readings we also see two Psalms by David of praise and a Proverb of wisdom. This is a good lesson for us. When feeling pressured by fear, worry, or whatever else is on your shoulders today, cast your cares on Him, seek His wisdom and start praising God. David was being chased like a dog with someone trying to kill him. Yet, he took time to seek God’s wisdom. The same wisdom and victory in todays Proverb calls out to you and is available to you.

Be Blessed!
