I was reading in 2 Corinthians 4 this morning, and I got to verse 17:
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory…”
I thanked God momentarily for that verse and what it was promising me, and then went on to verse 18:
“While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.”
And again, it was good, but I pretty much kept moving right along… until the Spirit poked me and brought me back to one little word: WHILE.
How does verse 17 happen? WHILE (during, as we do what comes next) we are looking at the things we CAN’T see instead of things we CAN see.
Hallelujah! While you’re keeping your eyes fixed on Him and the answers you can’t see with your eyes in your life yet, GOD, your FATHER, is working things out FOR YOU.
(See also Hebrews 12:1-3, Psalm 34:5-8. Really, you should read these!)
While…as we…chewing…thank you.
