Week Thirty-Four – Day 1:
Isaiah 53-56
Colossians 1
Study points:
Isaiah 53-56
-
Isaiah 53 is one of the most quoted and referenced chapters in the New Testament. Read it out loud and look up any cross references your Bible has listed. Spend some time really hearing this chapter. Let the Holy Spirit reveal more and more of Messiah to you as you study and read.
Colossians 1
-
The great mystery! We can now see this mystery throughout the Old Testament, but at the time it was hidden. The gentiles (goyim in Hebrew), the nations, would be allowed to have equal access to the Father through the sacrifice of Messiah. Many of the phrases and words that Paul uses here are covenant words that the Jewish people would be familiar with. Now they are applied also to the nations, the gentiles, the non-Jew.
