Daily Hope – Week 31 – Day 3

bible

“Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path” (Psalms 119:105).

Expect to hear from God!

Week Thirty-One – Day 3:

Is. 19-22

Romans 14

Study points:

Isaiah 19-22

  •  The judgement and restoration of nations based on how they treated Israel, is an important theme throughout the Word, especially in the prophetic books.
  • The judgement of Jerusalem for disobedience and her restoration is also an important theme throughout the Word.

Romans 14

  •  The judgement of other believers that may believe differently than ourselves in some areas is strife and something we must avoid at all costs.  It is not our job to be the Holy Spirit, nor to side with the enemy as an accuser of the brethren. We will only hurt their faith and our own.

Week Thirty-One – Day 2:

Is. 16-18

Romans 13

Study points:

Isaiah 16-18

  •  Isaiah 17 is very prophetic. You will notice the use of “in that day” which tells us it is pointing to something in the end times.
  • Isaiah 17:1 – It says that Damascus will cease to be a city. This has never happened. While it has been attacked and taken large damage in many wars it has never ceased to be a city. This will happen some day.
  • Cush is called Ethiopia or Nubia in other places in the Word, but it is not modern-day Ethiopia. It is part of Southern Egypt and Northern Sudan. It was a piece of Northeast Africa along the Nile.

Romans 13

  • Even during times that you may disagree with your government or not understand certain things or actions, you are to be subject to them. Without government we would be in anarchy which is a very horrible thing. There is something to be said for the fact that if your government isn’t making godly decisions you may have some responsibility for their actions and choices. Yes, by voting, but also because believers often times are complaining and fussing instead of praying for them as we are told to do in 2nd Timothy verses 1-3 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior,”
  • Believers are to be subject to (obey) their government as a general principle. There are many other passages that show that God approves when believers disobey government but only when obedience would mean disobedience to God.  (Exodus 1:17; 1 Kings 18:4-16; Esther 4:16; Daniel 3:12-18; Daniel 6:10; Matthew 2:12; Acts 5:29; Hebrews 11:23)
  • There are times in scripture when God raised up leaders to rebel against governments to deliver His people from evil rulers. (Exodus 1-14; Judges 2:16; Hebrews 11: 32-34)
  • There are times God uses an ungodly leader to save His people and bring about His plans. (The book of Esther)
  • Sometimes God uses an ungodly leader as judgment. (Nebuchadnezzar, 2 Chronicles 25:20; 2 Chronicles 32:24-25)

Week Thirty-One  – Day 1:

 Is. 12-15

Romans 12

divider thornsStudy points:

Isaiah 12-15

  •  In Isaiah, and other places in the Word, the phrases “the day of the Lord,” and “in that day” are often used. It has two sides, it describes the night of God’s judgment and the day light of His Salvation. It often points to in the end times or end of days.
  •  Isaiah has a lot of what prophetic scholars call “double fulfillment.” It will speak about times that came before or during Jesus’ time; it also refers to times that are yet to come in our day.
  •  Babylon is modern Iraq, Assyria is northern Iraq, and there is also a prophetic Babylon that the Bible speaks about in the end of days.
  • God has judged and will judge all nations that attacked, divided, and did not bless Israel. (Genesis 12:3)

Romans 12

  •  To recognize and know the will of God in your life, you need to have your mind renewed by the Word of God.
  •  Each of us has a measure of faith and a different role in the body of Christ.
  •  Verses 9-21 are measuring lines to how we treat other believers and how we treat the world. Use these measuring lines to stay out of strife and division in the world and in the body of Messiah. It’s a great idea to put them up somewhere you can read them at least once a day.

Rightly dividing the Word – July 29, 2016

It is extremely important, vital to our lives even, to be able to rightly divide the Word.

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. – 2 Timothy 2:15

I gathered up some of Billye Brim’s teachings here to help you.  They helped me greatly.

New Bible Study/Reading Blog Posts! 7/26/2016

On Monday, we will be beginning, God willing, a new thing here at Christian Hope Today.

We will be sending you a daily email, Monday through Friday, of bible readings for that day.

This is a special Bible reading system that will help you overcome the most common barriers to daily Bible reading. Many Christians want to read the Bible through in a year but find that with most Bible reading schedules they get behind and can never catch up. So they quit. This plan is different. It defeats discouragement and falling behind by being extremely flexible. Each week contains only five readings, allowing you to miss a day, or catch up. Read both the Old and New Testament assignments for each day and complete the entire Bible in one year. Or, read the New Testament readings for each day and finish the New Testament in a year. Either way, with this plan you can reach your goal of studying the Bible each day. If you do miss a day and are unable to catch up, just let it go, you will catch it again next time! Be free! It is more important to get Word into your Spirit every day than come under condemnation, and this new series of blog posts aims to help you do that.

Each email will contain the list for the whole week, just in case email is slow or there is some problem with sending out the daily blog post.

We know we are starting late in the year, but begin it we shall!

There are readings for fifty weeks in a year, leaving the last two weeks of December to catch up.

We recommend that you try to read at a specific time each day, so that a regular habit of reading will be established. Also, many find it helpful to keep a notebook handy in which to jot down ideas, applications of scripture, questions for later study, items to pray for, etc. A notebook helps take time with the Word of God into the realm of serious study, rather than simple reading.

HOW THE BIBLE READINGS ARE ARRANGED

In this plan you will be reading the Bible in chronological order, as nearly as possible, because this greatly enhances comprehension. In the Old Testament this is not so difficult to arrange, with the exceptions of Job and Psalms. We have included the works of the prophets in their proper place in the historical narrative of God’s people, Israel. Duplicate accounts are often included in a single day’s reading. The Psalms have been inserted at scattered points throughout the year, with every effort made to place appropriate Psalms with passages that they seem to “fit.”

In the New Testament you will begin with Luke and Acts, followed by the epistles. The other Gospels will be periodically included so that you are constantly exposed to Jesus Christ, even as you read of His will for His church. Lastly, you will read the book of Revelation.

God’s blessings rest with those who will read, understand, and live by His Word. May this guide help you to that noble end.

“Thy word is a lamp to my feet, and a light to my path” (Psalms 119:105).

Blessings,

Hope Notes – Be careful which side you are on – July 21, 2016

Rev 12:10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Note to self:

Never be an accuser of the brethren. I do not want to side with the adversary (satan). I need to watch for gossip, venting or general nonsense in my thoughts and words accusing the brethren. Participating in this allows a lot of things to be stolen in my life.  Being an accuser of the brethren allows doors to be opened to allow in all the things the devil does. He kills, steals and destroys.

Siding with the devil, there is no excuse. Nope, none!

Someone must need this today!

Does God ever send you to do anything you can’t handle?

YES!! Yes He does!

He never sends you to anything HE can’t handle, though!!

Glory to GOD! It’s time to shout!

Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place. – 2 Corinthians 2:14

AIRPLANES AND ABOMINATIONS BY LISA BEVERE

I wish I could read this out loud to each and everyone who needs it.

I need it on a regular basis.

But recently, this has been the topic of everything God is saying to me, all my daily bible readings, all my prayer time… all of it is saying this very thing.

Lisa Bevere put it together beautifully, so I am just linking to her blog for you to read.. and reread and reread.. Print it out, put it in your bible.. and read it to me when I need it, too!

The world needs your prayers more than it needs your opinions.

As some of you know the blue line is very personal to me.
I refuse to walk in fear, I know my son is where he is supposed to be, directly in God’s will, hidden in the secret place of the Most High.
Fear will just cause a door to be open to harm and destruction. So I stand against it with everything I’ve got and won’t give it an inch.

Some police officers are steeped in and attacked by fear because of stuff around them happening and it is causing them to react quickly and badly in situations and bring harm to others. It is a horrible thing. I make no excuse for their behavior, but I know most of them are not this way. I also know the peace officers protecting the protesters last night when they were gunned down were not this way.

We *must* pray for our police officers and against the spirit of fear that attacks them daily on their jobs.

I get the protests and their right to them but I really feel it is important that people realize that this wasn’t the protesters that killed 5 cops last night in Dallas. This was sniper thugs up on the roofs while the cops tried to protect the protesters. That to me is not revenge. These criminals ruined what the protesters were trying to accomplish.

Our battle is not with flesh and blood, we must stand against this wicked spirits of murder, division and other horrible things having their way in this country. And may justice be served now and when they stand before the only Judge that matters later.

The world needs your prayers more than it needs your opinions.

Prayer request from Billye Brim

Received this via email and I feel it is very important, so I am sharing it here.

Billye Brim Blog
The Parsonage
April 18, 2016
During Sunday prayer yesterday, as we prayed in the Spirit, I found myself saying “Friday. Friday” Today we received something from a person of the Spirit of God.
So, without going into all the details.
PLEASE PRAY ABOUT FRIDAY, APRIL 22.
That day is Erev Pesach, or the night of the Seder meal as Pesach begins.
The indication of the alert is that Islamic militants have evil plans for that date.
You know what to do.
You know to use your authority in your area.
You know to use Hebrews 4:13
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
You know to pray in the Spirit and let God use you.
I declare that these evil plans will come to naught.
Thank you, WWP’s, and all who will take up this assignment.
Love in Him,
Billye Brim
